‘The Walking Dead’ Actress Kelley Mack Dies at 33 After Battle With Brain Cancer


Kelley Mack, the actress best known for playing Addy on The Walking Dead, has died at the age of 33 after battling a glioma, a rare and aggressive type of brain tumor.

Her family confirmed she passed away peacefully on Saturday in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. A statement on her official Instagram described her as “a bright, fervent light” whose “warmth and creativity touched everyone she met.”

A Career Filled With Memorable Roles

Fans of The Walking Dead remember Mack as Addy, a resident of the Hilltop Colony during the show’s ninth season.
She also appeared in hit TV series like Chicago Med and 9-1-1, and lent her voice to commercials for brands like Dr. Pepper, Dairy Queen, Ross Stores, and Chick-fil-A.

Mack even did voice work for the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, voicing Gwen Stacy for promotional and commercial projects.

From Childhood Dreams to Hollywood

Born Kelley Lynne Klebenow in Cincinnati in 1992, Mack showed a passion for storytelling from a young age.
Her family says it all began when she received a mini video camera as a birthday gift. She started acting in commercials as a child and later went on to study cinematography at Chapman University in California.

She built an impressive career with 35 acting credits and five producer credits, working in both television and film.

Alanna Masterson, who also starred in The Walking Dead, wrote:

“What an incredible human. So proud to have fought alongside her in our final episode together.”

Her family described her as a multi-talented artist who loved hiking, biking, pickleball, playing piano, country music, and traveling. She was also a skilled tennis player in her college years.

Survived by Loved Ones

Kelley Mack is survived by her parents, Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow; sister Kathryn; brother Parker; grandparents Lois and Larry Klebenow; and her boyfriend Logan Lanier.

A celebration of her life will be held on August 16 in Ohio, with another memorial planned in Los Angeles for her friends and colleagues.
