Florida Congressman Cory Mills is facing serious allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Langston, who holds the title of Miss United States and is also a state GOP committee member. Langston filed a formal complaint with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on July 14.
She claims that after their breakup in February, Mills repeatedly contacted her and threatened to release nude photos and intimate videos of them together. According to the incident report, he even warned he might harm future romantic partners she could have. Langston provided screenshots of text and Instagram messages to law enforcement.
Those allegations were referred to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for further investigation. So far, Mills has denied the accusations and described them as politically motivated. He has suggested the claims were choreographed by a political rival who previously ran against him in a GOP primary.
Langston reported that the relationship began in late 2021 and ended earlier this year after she learned Mills was seeing someone else. Shortly afterward, another woman accused Mills of assault at his Washington, D.C., apartment. That case did not result in charges, and the accuser later withdrew her statement. Mills has denied any wrongdoing in both instances.
Florida Republicans are reportedly internally concerned that these accusations could impact Mills’ political standing. Some lawmakers are quietly discussing the possibility of replacing him as the GOP nominee for his district in the upcoming election cycle.
